THE UKRAINIAN GOVERNMENT APPROVED ADVISORY SERVICE PROGRAMME CONCEPT
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Concept of the State Target Advisory Service Programme for 2006 – 2009 by its Instruction N 210-р dated 20 June 2005.
IRD’S ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVITIES
Since June 2005 the area of the Institute for Rural Development’s expertise has extended to environmental activities. A relevant project is being implemented with financial support of the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) with the purpose to upgrade water supply and disposal systems in rural areas and improve ecological status of small rivers.

WTO ACCESSION: POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES FOR UKRAINIAN AGRICULTURE, AGRI-FOOD MARKETS AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT
During 28-29 March a seminar “WTO Accession: Possible Consequences for Ukrainian Agriculture, Agri-Food Markets and Rural Development” was held by the Institute for Rural Development. IRD Director Svitlana Prokopenko and Economic Expert Tamara Ostashko made key presentations.

On 31 March 2005, Round Table “Will Ukraine Become a WTO Member?” took place in Odesa. The event was organized by the Institute for Rural Development in association with the Center for Ukrainian Reform Education.
