Expert of the Institute for Rural Development, Board Member of the National Association of Agricultural Advisory Services of Ukraine Roman Korinets took part in the Sixth International Scientific and Practical Conference “Problems and Perspectives of Diversification”, which was held in the format of an extended field meeting of the Board of the National Association of Agricultural Advisory Services of Ukraine in Kherson oblast on 7-10 June 2005.
The conference was attended by representatives from agricultural advisory services, public professional associations in the agricultural sector, higher educational institutions and local self-governing bodies, People’s Deputies of Ukraine, officials from Secretariat of the President of Ukraine and Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, farmers and entrepreneurs.
The participants discussed diversification problems existing in the agricultural production sphere and possible solutions. Representatives from Canada, Sweden, Poland and USA and international organizations, such as Tacis and IFC, shared foreign experience of agricultural production diversification and discussed its adaptability in Ukraine.
The conference programme also included field visits to demonstrate agricultural diversification practices in Kherson oblast on the Adelaida family farm, Chaika firm in Hola Prystan rayon, Kovalchuk private enterprise in Kalanchak rayon, Askaniyske development farm in Kakhovka rayon, Bilozerskyy agribusiness state farm. Experts visited also the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Ukraine Research Institute of Animal Breeding in Steppe Regions and Askania-Nova National Reserve.
