On 21 April a Young Pianist Contest “Prokofiev’s Acacia” took place.
On 21 April the Fifth Young Pianist Contest “Prokofiev’s Acacia” took place in the village of Krasne, a URLP pilot community in Krasnoarmiysk rayon, Donetsk oblast. This is already a traditional contest held in the native village of the world famous composer, pianist and conductor Sergey Prokofiev. As in previous years, the Contest was organized by the Krasne Village Council Executive Committee and Krasnoarmiysk State Rayon Administration Culture Department and supported by the Donetsk Agrarian Development (DAR), a not-for–profit organization that initiated the Contest five years ago. Now this has become an annual regional, far beyond the rayon, event.
Pupils from 4-6 forms of the regional music schools took part in the Contest. Those were the children from Krasnoarmiysk, Volnovakha, Starobeshiv and Maryino rayons as well as from the towns of Dimitrov, Selidove, and Hirnyk. These are the rayons where DAR carries out its activities, due to which the children had the opportunity to participate in the Contest. Each participant had to play two musical pieces one of them being a Prokofiev’s composition. The audience listened to famous “Tarantella”, “Fairy Tale”, "Moments", "March", "The Moon over Meadows” etc.
Danylo Harbuzov from Krasnoarmiysk became the winner for his strong and confident playing of the “March”. Oleksiy Papuch from Starobeshiv rayon ranked second with “Fleetingness No 1, 10". The third place was won by Antonina Savkevych from Dymytrov. And an encouraging prize was awarded to Yulia Kozlenko from Krasnoarmiysk.
May be the present young generation from the depth of the country will have the chance to touch the heritage of their great countrymen and reach a high cultural level paying respect to creation, beauty, power of classic music that will sound forever…
