ICP expert Roman Korinets took part in the Round Table : “Budget Policy of Ukraine in 2005. Agricultural sector: Problems and Perspectives” held by the National Agricultural Chamber of Ukraine (www.agrichamber.org.ua) on 17 February 2005.
The NACU Press Release reads: “Rural people expect that the Government and Parliament will support the formulation and legislative ratification of clear strategic goals and priorities in their agricultural policy to ensure comprehensive solutions for both production and social problems in rural areas”. The Round Table’s participants were representative of professional associations within the Agro-Industrial Complex, Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations Ivan Tomych, President of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences Mykhaylo Zubets, President of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation Leonid Kozachenko, Rector of the National Agricultural University Dmytro Melnychuk, scientists, Ministry of Agrarian Policy’s officials, people’s deputies of Ukraine, NGO and media representatives. According to NACU President Mykhaylo Hladiy, NACU will continue the practice of public discussions regarding agricultural policy and intends to become a “public ministry”.
